Our bow maker Daniel and his team produce everything to do with traditional archery on an area of 1,500 m² in Hungary. From longbows to ILFs, wooden arrows and strings.
All bows are finely handcrafted in Hungary. The focus is always on aesthetics and performance, while also keeping an eye on optimum value for money and thus producing bows to suit all archers, from beginners who want an attractive bow to professional archers.
Key data at a glance
Riser in perfection
All risers are made from 3 parts in half-moon production or in a vertical design. The separating strips in 2 mm Micarta between the individual elements (vertical gluing 5 mm Micarta inlays) are not only for visual reasons, but above all they add rigidity to the middle section, which has an enormous effect on reducing vibrations when shooting.
And from 2022, highly stable monoblock materials will be used in addition to the technologies already in use, representing a further milestone in production quality.
There are also different weight classes for the middle sections and bow weights of up to over 2 kg can be achieved, whereby even the light middle sections can be shot with low vibration.
The design of the risers is harmonious and modern, the grips fit very well in the hand and an optimum compromise between filigree appearance and yet mass for smooth shooting behavior is the focus. You will find everything from inexpensive American walnut and ash to high-tech middle sections in stabilized wood.
Limbs in synchronicity
Sophisticated geometries that have been continuously developed over the years give the bows fast and smooth shooting characteristics. The limb cores are made of bamboo and special attention is paid to the torsional rigidity of the bows.
We achieve this by using special materials, whether in the carbon or glass area, we call our own throw arm construction Spiderbowsandwich construction.
SPIDERBOWS focuses on further innovations
Modern limb pockets
ILF systems are also gaining ground in the traditional sector. The possibility of exchanging the limbs (if fitted with an ILF system) at will, the adjustment of the poundage to approx. 3 pounds stronger or weaker than specified, the adjustment of the firing pin and the alignment function of the limbs speak for themselves.
An ILF system allows absolute flexibility and combines the spirit of tradition with technology in wooden bows. The only major drawback to date has been the ILF mount, which has never come close to the level of a metal centerpiece (inaccurate, breakage of the wood during adjustment, awkward or inaccurate setting).
As we have already said, the new Spiderbows ILF mount solves all these problems. We are proud to be able to offer you this new perfect and precise system as standard.
We also rely on perfect, precisely fitting and high-quality connections using special inserts for the classic take-down, which continues to hold a high market share.
Bow lengths in variation
A particular focus in the last two years has been the development of long bows in the take down and ILF areas. More and more archers are discovering the advantage of long bows. Yes, you lose some speed with exactly the same construction, but the shooting behavior changes completely.
The draw is much softer due to the long lever, so a clean anchor is much easier to ensure, the reduced string angle helps with small release errors and does not immediately transfer them to the arrow. You will soon notice that the grouping is much better and, above all, this also helps all those who have a draw length of 29 inches or more.
Up to 29 inches, bows with 62 and 64 inches are definitely a solution, even if they are not as comfortable to shoot as longer versions, but long versions are definitely recommended from 29 inches of draw. Spiderbows also produces take downs and ILFs with limbs up to 70 inches in length.
